Life Story for Rudy G. Grijalva
Rudy Grijalva, 91, joined his soulmate of sixty-two years "Annie" on
March 14,2017. He was born October 1, 1925 in Nogales, Arizona
to Jesus and Maria Grijalva. Rudy is survived by his two daughters, Ana Ochoa, and Christina
Grijalva; seven grandchildren Damon Lopez, Sean Ochoa, Mike
Ochoa (Leah), David Ochoa (Karey), Nicole Bram, Adriana Hurst (Nic),
and Michelle Pendleton; thirteen great grandchildren and his sister
Lupita Espinosa of Nogales. Rudy's wife Ann, parents Maria and Jesus, brother Carlos, son-in-
law Michael Ochoa, grandson Nicolas Ochoa, and great-grandson
Andre preceded him in death. Rudy served in the u.S. Navy during WWII as a radio operator.
Afterwards, he attended photography school in Los Angeles before
he and Ann returned to Arizona. Over the years he pursued his love
of photography by freelancing. He also did videography for the
Catholic Diocese's T.V. station. He shared his musical talents by
singing and playing the vihuela for the parish mariachi band and
senior choir at Sacred Heart Church for many years. The Sacred
Heart community was like Rudy and Ann's second family.
Rudy's professional endeavors included running a printing plant and
managing data processing operations for a land developing
company and working for the Diocese of Tucson. Rudy ended his
career touring the southwest towns of Arizona as a representative
for Senator John McCain. In addition to his work and creative
interest Rudy was also the regular on-call family Mr. Fix It for just
about anything. He was dependable, reliable, and reasonable!
Anyone who knew Rudy, knew that only second to his plentiful jokes
and family tales was hie immense heart. He cared with such depth
and sincerity for those close to him. Rudy's deep devotion to his
faith was a constant guide in his life. This wonderful husband, father, Tata, and Tati will always be
remembered for his wisdom, humor, support and his hugs and
kisses, but most of all for his unconditional love. We would like to
express a special thank you to the caring staff at Abuelos at
Edgewood for the respect and kindness they gave Rudy.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated March 18 at 1Oam at Sacred
Heart Catholic Church.
