Obituary for Cheryl Lee Craig

Cheryl Lee Craig
Cheryl Lee Craig, 60, went to be with Jesus on August 2, 2017. She was born on June 29, 1957 in Butler, Missouri to Herbert A. Craig, Sr. and LeeDella Waggoner Craig. The family moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1963, settling in Sahuarita in 1967. She graduated from Sahuarita High School where she was active in chorus, 4-H and Government Club - Chaplain for H.S. State Government Day. She graduated Pima Community College as a Paralegal and earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of Arizona.

Cheryl grew up in, and was active in the Baptist Church, participating in the Sunbeam; Jr. & Sr. Girls Auxiliary program - serving as Queen with Scepter.

Cheryl married Monte Zent after graduating high school and resided in Idaho until the marriage ended amicably. She returned to Tucson, Arizona where she met and married Harry Trostle I, with whom she had 3 sons and raised 2 step-sons. This marriage ended, but the two remained friends in recent years.

Cheryl enjoyed her employment with Sears, her gigs as a substitute teacher in the Marana and Tucson school districts, as well as her last occupation at Call 24.

Cheryl was an avid and gifted reader, often completing a book in one day. She was especially fond of butterflies and dragons, and found humor in delightful trolls. She found immense joy in spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Herbert A. Craig Sr (2010) and her son, Harry Trostle II (2013). She is survived by two sons, Craig (Jennifer) Trostle and Charles Trostle; two step-sons, David Trostle and James (Maria) Trostle; mother, LeeDella Waggoner; brother, Herbert (Allen) Craig, Jr.; sister, Susan Fabian; nephew, Stephen Fabian; nieces, Stephanie and Sophia Fabian; step-mother, Doreen Craig; former daughter-in-law, Nicole Trostle; eight grandchildren, Cassady, Ozzy, Axyl, Charles Jr., Jovi, Stevi, J.J. and Allen; one uncle and numerous cousins.

Cheryl was greatly loved by her family and friends; her absence will be felt deeply! We know she would love for you to smile whenever you see a butterfly and think of her fondly.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Cheryl’s life and share memories on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00pm at Abbey Funeral Chapel located at 3435 N. 1st Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719. Reception with refreshments following service.
