Obituary for Harry Thompson Holt Jr.

Harry Thompson Holt Jr., "Zero", passed away September 20, 2018, at “Peppi’s House,” TMC Hospice in Tucson, Arizona. He was at the age of 84 years old. Harry was born on January 30, 1934, in Bluefield, Virginia to Harry Thompson Holt Jr. and Ruth Jacqueline Gilmer Holt, on a very cold day. He was a member of the United States Air Force where he served his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His specialty was as a Munitions Maintenance Supervisor where he achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant at his retirement. He received a Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Longevity Service Award, the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. He settled in Tucson, Arizona after serving his last post at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Harry has gone to his eternal rest joining his wife, Emma Holt.

He is survived by his brother, Ernest Holt, his children; Harry Holt III, Anthony Holt, Jacqueline Holt Johnson, Kenneth Holt, Michael Holt; his grandchildren, Harry Holt IV, Tashiana Holt, Mercedes Holt, of Harry Holt III and Delia Tassler Holt, Jannell Bennett, Michael "Mikey" Johnson Jr., and Jeremy Johnson of Jacqueline Holt Johnson, Marcus Holt of Kenneth Holt and Maria Holt, Dominique Holt, Mckenzie Holt of Harry Holt III and Amy McKenzie Gilbert; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Jazlyn Holt and Mya Holt of Harry Thompson Holt IV and Fabiana Madrid Holt, and Corrine C. Holt of Tashiana Holt and John Cervini.

He was a charitable man who donated to many organizations including UNICEF, Boys Town, American Red Cross, Wounded Warrior Project, various monasteries, and many more. He was an honorable man who served his country and his family; His soul will remain within our hearts. He was genuinely one of a kind and ‘simply amazing!’ He was a ‘friend,’ to those who sought after his heart, especially his very good friend, Gisela Tassler.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at 12:00 noon at the Arizona Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery 15950 N Luckett Rd, Marana, AZ 85653.
