Obituary for Esther Lee Johnson (Taylor)

Print
Esther Lee Johnson (Taylor), born to Henry E. Taylor and France B. (Hunt) Taylor on September 15, 1946, Esther was the fifth of eight children. The household Esther and her siblings were raised in was described by her as “tough”, but that she always felt as though she was loved. It was that environment which over time shaped her into the honest, loyal, and kind woman that we remember in our hearts. Esther was refined by the virtues of humility, resilience, and determination. Esther cared deeply about the well-being of others; as a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend; she was protective and quick to offer encouragement where it was needed.

Throughout her life, Esther overcame significant obstacles, and endured each new difficulty with a true spirit of a fighter. A beautiful woman with a big smile, Esther’s large persona will have a lasting impact those she came in contact with. Though her health would deteriorate quickly during later years, she continued to endure. Her down to earth personality, sharp wit, and upbeat sense of humor never faded and remained on display even during some of her worst days. Still, it was her courageous and upbeat nature that made her unexpected passing on November 12, 2018, seem out of the ordinary. Until her final moments, it was her smiling face, comforting voice, rich laugh, and devotion to her faith that she will be remembered for.
It is with heavy heart, we say goodbye to a truly exceptional woman. Esther will be dearly missed.

To say that Esther Johnson was a person of faith is one of the greatest understatements Imaginable
She believed that the God mentioned at Psalms 83:18
Jehovah, was the true God and is above all gods worshiped by humans.

Esther also believed that in the near future Jehovah God would act to restore the earth to the original condition he purposed in the beginning and bring all obedient mankind into a paradise where there would be no pain, death and suffering.
Revelations 21:3,4
Esther and her family anxiously look forward to the time when all the promises of Jehovah have their complete fulfillment!!

She is survived by her 3 children, Lionel Johnson and his wife, Gayle, Felicia Markussen, and Ian Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey, Timothy and Amber; 3 great-grandchildren, Aamiyah, Zophia and Zamaya; and five siblings, Betty Butler, Rosie Mayfield, Henry Taylor Jr., Jimmy Taylor and Vanzora Brown. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Hartfiled and Lonnie Taylor.

Our entire family would like to thank Judith Hicks for her unwavering dedication and friendship to Esther. We would also like to thank all the staff at Banner University Medical Center who provided emergency care to Esther during her last hours with us- specially, Dr. Martinez, Dr. Fiorello, Dr. Mulligan, Nurse Ryan, and Melissa who kept the family up to date with what was happening.

To all of those who called, texted, visited, and prayed for Esther and our family we thank you.

Lastly, we would also like to thank Abbey Funeral Chapel, respectively- Gary for his continuous availability, patience as he guided us through this process, and gentle hand with our beloved Mother.

A Memorial Service for Esther will be held on Saturday November 24, 2018, at 2:00 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 817 E Ohio Street, Tucson, AZ, 85714
