Obituary for Magdalena Rivera

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our matriarch, Magdalena Rivera. Born in 1934,
Magdalena’s life was defined by her love for Jesus and the lives she touched. From her humble beginnings
as a child in Mexico and teen wife in Texas, she spent most of her life in California and Arizona, joyfully
keeping home for her 6 children and husband. As a wife and mother, she was quick with a meal or medical
assessment to the absolute needed scolding. As a grandmother, she was quick with hug or a laugh. Her
passion for family was second to none, and her penchant for finding friendship in any social situation,
ready to dance to a catchy tune and or attend a family party continues in the legacy of her children.
Hija de Dios, Hermana, Esposa, Madre, Tia, Abuela, Suegra, Bisabuela are all sacred titles she would aspire
to.

She joins her husband after almost 8 long years apart and, while a devastating loss to her family, it is the
greatest homecoming for her heart as we celebrate her life.
