Deb, a fearless, wise and caring woman, who spent her adult life in Tucson. She was certainly a cat person but loved her furry-grand-puppy Brigh to bits. She was a Little League mom, and wife to her husband George, the love of her life, travelling and two-step dancing partner. Deb was a dedicated literacy volunteer, reading for years to children at Manzo Elementary School. She enjoyed her retirement to the fullest, and became a vital part of the Downtown YMCA, exercising, teaching as a volunteer instructor (especially TRX), and growing friends with her "Y Family".
For 40 years, she was a leader in the Tucson legal community. Deb spent nearly 25 years at Mesch Clark & Rothschild. She was a founding member, member or board member to several legal assistant association including a 2-term national board member of the National Association of Legal Assistants. Deb was an integral part of the legal services provided to thousands of her firms' clients, often becoming a friend and confidant to those she served.
Deb was a music lover – from Gorillaz and Metallica to Blues and Jazz, particularly enjoying live music at the Rialto Theatre. She was an avid reader who relished the chance to share a detective mystery with a fellow book lover. She enjoyed her walks with Brigh, taking photos of desert flowers and birds along the way.
She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her loving sister Kathy, and the lights of her world- "the kids"- Chris and Cristina, as well as Cristina's family in El Salvador.
In lieu of flowers, consider donating to a cat shelter, or pass forward an act of kindness in Deb’s memory. We will hold a celebration of Deb’s life in this world at a later time when social distancing is a thing of the past.
Consider our short time together, enjoy a tequila, and say a prayer for Deb.
