Obituary for Karen Marie Goode (Bruckman)
Karen Marie Goode, age 60, passed unexpectedly after a courageous battle with cancer on April 27th, 2020. Karen was born in Flint, MI on June 7, 1959 to Richard Bruckman and Wilma Taylor-Bruckman. She attended school at Holy Rosary and then graduated from Kersley High School where she met her high school sweetheart and husband of 40 years, Danny Goode. Karen was an office manager for Genesee Copy & Products for 15+ years and then helped manage their family business, Adventure RV in Lapeer, MI.
Karen loved the Lord dearly, enjoyed scripture, swimming, gardening, breeding large Newfoundland dogs, and would never turn down the grocery Monopoly pieces in hopes of winning it big. Karen was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Davison, MI where she had spent many years on the Board of Women’s Ministry.
Karen is survived by her husband, Danny Goode, daughter Kelly (Matthew) Good, grandson Jesse Gage Goode, brother Steven Bruckman, nieces Michelle Bruckman-Beasinger and Lisa Bruckman-Tomlinson, and nephew Steve Bruckman. She was preceded in death by her son Jesse Jay Goode, parents Richard and Wilma Bruckman, sister Suzanne Bruckman, brother Tom Bruckman, and niece Jill Bruckman.
Due to COVID-19, a memorial service in celebration of Karen’s life will be held later this year, once family and friends are permitted to gather again. In leu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe page titled ‘The Goode Fight Against Cancer’ to both share Karen’s story as well as updates as to her memorial service. Any donations can be made there to help alleviate memorial & funeral costs, and the medical expenses incurred battling cancer.
