Obituary for Joan H. Ebert (Beal)

Joan H. Ebert, a retired bank trust officer, passed away in Tucson on June 26, 2021, at the age of 88. Joan spent the first part of her life in Macomb and Bushnell, Illinois. She worked at Farmers & Merchants State Bank of Bushnell for 27 years. Joan loved nature, especially trees, and wildlife, and supported The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and the Nature Conservancy, among other charities.

Joan married Norman V. Ebert, her first husband, in 1950. Norman passed away in 1995. They had no children. Joan married her second husband, David G. Ebert, also a widower, in 1997 and moved to Tucson. Joan and David enjoyed several Road Scholar educational travel programs in the United States and visited Great Britain, France and Germany. They stopped counting after 31 trips.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, David G. Ebert; brother Jack Beal; stepchildren Emily Ebert Beasley (husband Craig Beasley); Mark Ebert; and Kirk Ebert (wife Laura Ebert); step grandchildren Rachel Beasley, Eric Beasley, Scott Ebert and Kevin Ebert; and longtime loving caregiver, Judith Valencia.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Abbey Funeral Chapel, 3435 North 1st. Avenue, Tucson, AZ. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the Memorial Celebration beginning at 11:00 am.
