Born Marjorie Zell Thompson on December 15, 1925 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to Arnt and Maggie Park Thompson. Died November 21, 2016 in Tucson, Arizona of natural causes. Marge was raised in the mining community of Lark, Utah, and spent her childhood in mining camps across Utah and Nevada. Marge was very musical growing up and loved to play the piano and sing. She graduated from Bingham High School and attended Brigham Young University before meeting James Daniel Muir whom she married on December 31, 1948. Dan predeceased her in 2011. Marge is preceded in death by a sister, Ardath P. McGregor (d. 2009), and a brother, William G. Thompson (d. 2010). She is survived by her two children, Robert A. Muir and Keri Muir, both of whom reside in Tucson. Marge is also survived by Rob’s wife Leslie and their 4 children. Beginning in 1956, Dan and Marge made their home in Provo, where Marge loved participating in the kids’ activities as room mother for their elementary school classes and den mother for Rob’s Cub Scout troop. Later Marge worked for Press Publishing Company and as a data entry clerk for the Bureau of Reclamation. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at Utah Valley Hospital. In 2000, Marge and Dan relocated to Tucson where Marge particularly liked watching the desert wildlife and spending time with her family.
